During the school year, the high school youth will meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month, 12:15 – 2:00 pm. The middle school youth will meet on 1st and 3rd Sundays throughout the year for Catechism class.

Monthly activities, service projects, and/or fundraisers are also planned throughout the school year. Youth are also encouraged to participate in retreats & summer camp.

We offer a HS Youth Faith Formation class that meets on Sunday mornings at 10:05 am. This class focuses on Peer Ministry Leadership  Skills and helping high school youth relate their faith to their daily lives.

Our youth are active in the worship life of the congregation. They share their talents in worship and other ministries of the congregation. Youth serve as acolytes, lay readers, communion assistants, greeters, live-stream operators, play in the band at The Journey service, play instruments for special music at the traditional service, assist with Vacation Bible School and serve on the church council and other committees.

The youth and children present a Christmas Program in December each year.

    Catechism & Confirmation Classes

Catechism is a three-year program for youth in 6th–8th grade. These classes help youth explore their faith and grow in their understanding of God, the Bible, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Ten Commandments.

September through March, the middle school youth will meet on 1st and 3rd Sundays, 1:00 – 2:00 pm for Catechism class. The 8th grade students will meet in April and May to prepare for their Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday.

We offer a variety of faith-based and fun activities throughout the school year for the children in our congregation and the community. We encourage children to participate in worship and attend Faith Formation class on Sunday mornings. For fun, we have an annual  community Fall Festival, and Elementary Retreat, a Christmas activity, Christmas program, Easter Extravaganza and VBS Extreme Day Camp.

Children’s Bibles: At the beginning of each school year, we present Children’s Action Study Bibles to the students entering 3rd grade and new students in 4th and 5th grade. The children use their Bibles in Faith Formation class and are encouraged to read them at home as well.

Children and Worship:  Children are encouraged to attend our worship services. We realize that sometimes children get the wiggles and maybe even the giggles, during worship.  No worries. It is important for them to know that they are a part of the Body of Christ. Please help yourself to a Worship Bag and Children’s Bulletin as you enter the sanctuary. These bags have quiet toys and activity sheets for children to use during the service. Please clean out all trash and return the bags after the service. If you feel you need to leave the sanctuary with your child(ren), there is a nursery/play area set up in the Sanctuary Hall. A Children’s Message is offered at the 11:00 am Traditional service.

First Communion: We offer First Communion instruction in the spring of each year.  The children receive their First Communion during the Maundy Thursday service of Holy Week.  Most children are in 2nd grade when they receive their First Communion, but we are open to younger children receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion if parents feel their child is ready at an earlier age.

Blessing of the Backpacks:  We start each school year with a Blessing of the Backpacks. Children and Youth are encouraged to bring their backpacks to worship for a blessing. This year our students received a backpack tag to place on their backpack.

Children & Youth Christmas Program:  In November and December, the children and youth will prepare for the Christmas program which will be  presented at the 11:00 am worship service in December.
