All God's Children
Program Description
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.)
believes that "a high quality early childhood program provides a
safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social,
emotional and cognitive development of young children while
responding to the needs of families." All God's Children preschool
is committed to providing just such an environment. Children learn
best through a planned, play-oriented approach to education and our
curriculum reflects this practice by including sharing and
conversation time, stories, songs, finger plays; creative art
activities, construction/building opportunities, hands-on math
experiences, games and fine and gross motor activities. We will also
provide many cooking and science/nature activities and celebrate
birthdays, holidays, and special events that affect the children's
lives. Our classrooms and activities are designed to stimulate
imaginations. We incorporate a healthy balance of child-directed and
teacher-directed activities, indoor and outdoor experiences and
active and quiet times throughout each day.
Staff
Teachers are selected for their experience, caring and understanding
of preschool aged children. Upon employment, all new teachers,
regardless of prior schooling, must complete state certification by
taking a 40 hour child care course and are encouraged to begin the
process of attaining a Child Development Associate Degree (C.D.A.)
if they do not already have one.
Teachers complete 10 hours a year of continuing education, attend
in-service training, attend monthly staff meetings and are
encouraged to attend conferences, seminars and workshops that relate
to child development.

Schedule
Each teacher is encouraged to set her own
schedule based on the ages and needs of her particular classroom. An
example of a prior preschool schedule is listed below.

The hours of operation for All God's Children
are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. All children, with the
exception of the 1-2 year old class, stay for lunch. The 1-2 year
old class is dismissed at 12:00 and does not eat lunch at school.
School Calendar
All God's Children Preschool follows the Manatee County Public
School Calendar. On public school "Early Out" days, preschool will
let out at 11:30arn. If Manatee County Public Schools close because
of inclement weather, we will also be closed.
